"Jo's help and support was invaluable to me following the sudden death of my wife. I was in a very dark place, but Jo was patient and understanding and was there for me as I worked my way through the grieving process. I now recommend her to anyone I know facing any kind of loss"
Joanne Watt, MBACP (Accred)
Time.. just for you
I offer a very relaxed, informal, safe and comfortable place to talk in a peaceful, rural setting.
You will be made very welcome and will have one hour completely dedicated to you, with my undivided attention.. which can be very hard to find in every day life! This can really help you to focus on your thoughts and feelings in a way that cannot always be possible with family and friends.
Sessions are usually once a week or once a fortnight, but frequency and number of sessions depends on you and your own circumstances.
As an individual, or as a couple, your response to counselling will be unique, so the number of sessions required can be negotiated at the beginning of counselling work, or can be left open ended to be reviewed as we work together.
I can offer weekday, evening and Saturday appointments and also facilitate home visits if necessary.
As a couple, we were reluctant to talk about our problems for fear of making them worse. However, working with Joanne really helped us to understand each other better and helped us find new ways of dealing with things. We can now communicate better and feel motivated to keep working on our relationship. So glad we did it.
I have been trying to come to terms with a few different problems lately and wasnt doing a very good job on my own. My GP recommended i seek out counselling for depression and anxiety and I was referred to Joanne.
Having someone to talk to outside my family was very helpful as I felt I could say whatever I needed to without worrying about the consequences. Bottling things up had only made them ten times worse.
Joanne gave me a safe place to find the confidence to address some issues which also helped me to face up to things. I am now thinking less negatively and feel I'm in a much stronger frame of mind and working hard to find the strength to move on with life"
Life can be full of problems and choices… so having the time and space to talk openly to someone who will really listen can help you to explore and reflect on life’s challenges, reduce confusion, enable you to cope, gain personal insight and growth… and find the inner resources to help you move forward.
Finding the right person to work with is such an important part of your journey, and I hope that my website will help you make that very personal choice.
